winter is here...

Just wanted to post some pics I took today of the walnut trees, they're truly beautiful anytime of the year. Although I love their leaves, I think the bare branches are also very picturesque.

Oh and we were surprised with these little munchkins... too much cuteness. I think there were five of them, all running around looking oh so adorable! All ready to go home for someone's Christmas present! This one in particular liked to pose! But hurry they will won't be there long... and no I didn't take one home!

I also wanted to highlight some of the farm equipment that is always at the farm in various locations. Here are three tractors yellow, orange, and green:

I also added some new pictures of recent additions to the prop stop, this adorable vintage chair courtesy of Brie Coleman! Thank you! I think it went perfect with my little man. And this resident cat who loves to come pose in my pictures...

And this vintage wooden crate that's perfect for little people who aren't able to sit up alone or walk yet.

And lastly, I had to take the mustard chair to be stored away for the winter, but it will be back in the Spring. The Andersons have some big plans for the barn next year, we hope to have to prop stop properly closed in so that we will be able to better protect the props from the weather. This and a lot more that they are still working out, but I'll keep you updated! Thanks for stopping by!

walnuts update

The walnuts are just about ready to harvest, due to recent rains  the walnuts are opening up nicely. We are definitely planning to harvest them this weekend. We should be able to complete the process in one weekend, so the orchard will be available for shooting again the rest of the year. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Some of the walnuts have already fallen from the trees and look delicious!

I also wanted to let you know I added two new props to the prop stop.

Hope to see you around soon.
Happy Fall! Happy shooting!

Walnut Harvesting in October

Just wanted to let everyone know that the farm will be harvesting the walnuts the weekends of October 22nd/23rd and 29th/30th.

This means that the orchard area of the property will not be available for shooting both Saturday and Sunday of this weekend. It also means that there will be lots of workers and machinery.

You are still however able to come and use other parts of the 5 acre property, but keep in mind it will be dusty and noisy. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Also the leaves are beginning to change colors and will be falling soon!!

Here are pictures taken this Saturday by Alexandra Frankel.

Welcome!

To the best kept photographer's secret in Sacramento! Anderson's family walnuts are now opening up their farm to local photographers and their clients.

Currently the trees are full with leaves, and provide plenty of shaded area for shooting.

The walnuts are growing nicely... we shall be harvesting them on October.

The huge oak tree with a white porch swing and newly hung tire swing a staple here for your photography use!

Close up shot of porch swing on oak tree:

The long country roads provide perfect backdrop to any shoot.

You will always find this gorgeous restored vintage truck ready for your photography use!

The red chicken coop.

Green john deer tractor and red atv also available for poses.

Side entrance from Rockwell Lane, you can park anywhere to the left of the barn.
