It's that time of year... we're thrilled to have so many photographers share their pics!

It's been very busy out here this month, the weather is cooling off and the evenings have been giving us spectacular sunsets. Perfect for Fall family photoshoots. We just wanted to drop in and let you know we are booking up quickly for the remaining Saturdays in October so please contact us soon if you wish to come out.

We also wanted to share some of these awesome pics from photographer Janelle Edwards who sent us these from her engagement photoshoot back in March!

Special dates to note

Please note that this year's scheduled weekend for Walnut Harvesting will be October 18th and 19th. You can still come use the location, but there will be lots of activity in and around the walnut grove. We just wanted you to be aware before you book that this will be going on that weekend. There's still plenty of areas for shooting behind the barn and in the front and side yards where the porch swing and garden is located.

Also Saturday October 26th the Anderson family is having a private function so the location will be closed to photographers after 5pm.

NEW prop!!

Yes!! Summer is in FULL swing! We are excited to be out of school, and the kids are really happy to sleep in! The Andersons farm is available for shoots all week. We just added another cool stool! This lovely and sturdy vintage metal stool has a great rattan seat. And is now stored in the prop stop for your use!

And below is my fabulous model with this new prop! Here on the farm we have plenty of shade, this picture was take at noon in the walnut grove that provides shade all day.

As you can see the leaves are full and beautiful making the perfect backdrop for awesome outdoor shots! The walnuts are seen all over the trees!

Please not in booking the Andersons are closing the farm while they are on vacation
July 10-24
otherwise they're available all summer, please e-mail Debbie today to book your next photo session!

Farm to Fork: Walnuts

Chicken Skewers with Minty Walnut Pesto

Debbie also shares this awesome recipe!

Ingredients
Bamboo skewers (or metal, if desired)
1 lb chicken breast, cubed
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt, pepper to taste
Ingredients for the pesto:
1 cup walnuts
Handful mint
Handful parsley
1 garlic clove
1/2 cup pecorino Romano cheese
Juice 1/2 lemon
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp pepper
1/2-1 cup extra virgin olive oil
Directions
Soak bamboo skewers in water for 30 minutes. Toss cubed chicken with 1 tbsp olive oil, salt, and pepper. Skewer chicken and place on baking sheet.
In a food processor, combine all pesto ingredients, except for the olive oil. Pulse a few times, then drizzle the olive oil down the feeding tube as you pulse. Add enough oil to create a pesto consistency. Set aside.
Broil chicken on second-to-highest rack for 3 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Transfer to serving plate and top with pesto (or serve on the side as a dipping sauce.)

Sweet puppies at the farm!

We just wanted to let you know that we have several sweet little puppies on the farm and they are more than happy to pose for pictures!! They will be here for another three weeks and are available for use as props! They won't be in the prop stop LOL! But they will be around just let us know you'd like to meet them!
